This mix of distressed and luxurious in the windows of Max Mara on London's Bond Street completely enrtanced me. How beautiful is this reworking of a classic mid century modern chair with applications of squares of gold paper (probably then varnished or waxed to preserve the finish).The same finish is applied to a quilted leather chaise.

In the 90's (many years ago!) it was a brief design fad to cover walls with polished squares of gold, and here it is again, executed with a more modern delight in distressed and imperfect finishes.
