Anthropologie News

Created 03/21/2010 - 15:22

The latest Anthropologie store has just opened at 131-141 King's Road in London's Chelsea and without question has immediately become a must see destination. Many tears were shed at the news it would replace one of Chelsea's favoroute landmarks - Antiquarius - since the late 60's a beloved spot for antiques, wonderful vintage fashion and jewellery of every kind. But times change and life must move on and nothing could be more enchanting than its replacement, filled with the store's signature mix of colourful, seemingly one of a kind items for home and to wear and to read.

My eye was caught almost immediately by this amazing centrepiece of rolled blue and white paper - so much in the mood of the cream paper chandeliers spotted last week in Paris at Bon Marche and the voluptuous bouquet of white paper flowers seen a few days ago in London's Spittlefields.

And among the piles of tempting books, Etc by Sibella Court, an Australian stylist and designer - The Society, Inc. - who has created this enticing collection of interior photos with the most beautiful brown paper cover apparently striped with paintbrush strokes of colours under a tipped on photograph. Her website is in the same mood, and an on-line shop is coming soon.
