The answer is: it's a candle!  Looking amazingly like one of those tiered cocktails made of differently coloured levels of liquer with fruit in the bottom, but actually a beautiful clear glass tumbler filled with fruity scented candle to make lovely smells in your room.  Found at Au Printemps, in Paris.
